Lately I have been inspired to go back to basics. It is easy to get caught up in complicated philosophies and studies but sometimes you just have to bring it back down to earth in a practical way. So today’s inspiration is about getting back to the spiritual basics.
The ancients knew about keeping things simple, they had a few laws and understandings with which they strictly lived by. They knew that the mind, body and spirit all had to work together in alignment for life to work. None could be separated out and worked on as separate entities. We often only focus on one area – by either working on our physical body, sharpening our mind or getting spiritual. The trouble is no one part can be improved without the others being involved.
It is the same when we try to manifest or create in our lives. When we are opening ourselves to accepting our divine rights we need to be balanced and in alignment. If you are thinking wonderful thoughts and doing great affirmations but your feelings do not reflect these thoughts they will not work for you. Affirmations are one of the most wonderful tools available to us but we can not just say them, we must really feel the feelings behind them. For example if you are saying I love and accept myself but feel like you are worthless you are not going to make an improvement. When you say such an affirmation imagine your heart filling with love and look at yourself in the mirror and see the best of yourself.
Prayer of course is one of the other great tools we have available. There are about 5 different types of prayers. But one of the least used is simply what we call ‘feeling prayer.’ You do not have to say certain words or practice particular rituals because some of the most powerful prayer comes from what you are feeling. Greg Braden (author of The God Code) tells a story of one of his Native American friends doing a prayer to create rain because New Mexico was so drought stricken. Greg recalls that he expected to see a full on ritual but instead his friend simply stood in a healing circle and within five minutes told him they were done. When Greg enquired the man said, never pray for anything, (in this case rain), instead you should pray rain, act as though it already exists. While in the circle he felt the feeling of what it is like when it rains, the more feeling, the stronger the prayer. That night a great storm came through the area and they got more than enough rain!
Our feelings are very powerful and send vibrations out into the world. Feelings such as joy, love, gratitude and peace have high vibrations. Feelings such as anger, hate, jealousy and fear have low vibrations. When you feel something you send a message out around you and attract back similar vibrations. If you can align your thoughts and feelings together you will experience miracles.
The last tool I want to mention is The Blessing. When we are faced with or witness difficult situations in our life it can be hard to move past our pain. The Blessings offers us a chance to see that there is something good behind all situations and rather than judge them we can instead bless them. We bless ourselves for being hurt, we bless those who have caused the hurt and we bless the witnesses to the hurt. As you say these blessings out loud over and over you will find that a great warmth and feeling of love spreads through you and you are able to release any hurt or judgement around the situation. It is important that you bless all those that were involved for the blessing to be effective.
So in summary affirmation, prayer and blessing are great tools for living a joyous, peaceful and rewarding life. If you are harmonized in mind, body and spirit and use both your thoughts and feelings to create your life you will find yourself to be healthy, abundant and happy. These tools are simple, effective and are ready for you to use right now.
Have a wonderful weekend and many blessings to you all.
Love and light
