What is Moativational MedicineTM?

The subject of emotional health seems to be on everyone’s lips. Doctors and respected members of the medical community are proving and confirming the critical link between our emotional and physical health. They admit to not having all the answers and are embracing allied, complementary and integrated approaches to getting people back on the road to wellness. Moativational Medicine™, created by Richard Moat PhD, is one such approach.

Moativational Medicine™ demonstrates the direct link between our emotions and our physical ailments. Its philosophy helps identify any hidden and not-so-hidden emotional under-currents arising from stresses, conflicts and traumas, and how these influence our physical health. It shows how we are more than a biological construction of organs, tissues, and cells, and that we are shaped and affected by a much wider range of mental and emotional factors.

Kevin Patton was in hospital on life support with terminal leukemia. Doctors said he had 5 days to live. After working with Richard for 60 minutes, Kevin walked unaided out of the hospital 2 weeks later.

Kevin and countless other clients who have worked with Richard Moat have consistently proved that almost any unwanted physical condition or symptoms can be improved or remedied. The Moativational Medicine™ approach has successfully helped individuals arrest, reverse and prevent a recurrence of illness, from headaches to eczema and back pain to cancer.

Who is Richard Moat, PhD?

Richard studied at The British College of Integrated Medicine, specialising in mind-body medicine, emotional health and stress, having already completed his PhD in Clinical Hypnosis.

Twenty-six years in the personal development, human transformation and health & wellbeing fields have seen Richard work alongside many of the leaders in these fields, resulting in the emergence of his own in-touch-with-reality, broad-appealing and easy-to-apply philosophies and techniques for permanent, lasting, positive change.

Today, as well as teaching internationally, Richard is a member of The New Zealand Charter of Health Practitioners and has ‘Approved Supplier’ status under the government-funded Harbour Health Primary Lifestyle Options programme.

He is a published author and regularly writes for some of New Zealand’s leading health publications, mentors holistic and mainstream health professionals, and runs private practices from consulting rooms on both sides of Auckland's Harbour bridge.

What Richard's experience and research has revealed.

With over 14 years’ experience dealing with the connection between thoughts, feelings and physical symptoms, and over 2,300 client-facing hours, Richard’s discoveries include:
  • How left-sided ailments can be linked to the significant female figures in your life.
  • The three most common situations responsible for the majority of back pain.
  • How skin problems are often attributable to someone you love being too far away.
  • The reason why joint problems suggest a lack of flexibility.
  • Why becoming good at managing and coping with stress can be more damaging than you realise.
Do you suspect that there’s more to getting ill than we are lead to believe?

Treating the physical body alone addresses symptoms but ignores the actual causes of illness, ailments and disease. Moativational Medicine™ gives you the understanding and tools to identify the underlying, mostly subconscious patterns you run, enabling you to play the major role in determining how often you become, and how long you remain ill.

Sue Harris had migraines for 12 years. The loss of the use of her right hand and arm ensued, with the cause, treatment and cure pronounced “unknown”. Richard’s 20-minute assessment and remedy recommendation applying the Moativational Medicine™ principles meant that Sue’s migraines and disability are today a thing of the past.

What are some of the principles of the Moativational™ Medicine model?
  • Because the human body is infinitely intelligent, illness should not be dismissed as random or accidental;
  • The mind and body are inextricably linked, meaning that any imbalance in the state of our physical health has its roots in, or an impact on, the quality of our mental and emotional health;
  • Physical dis-ease is a language used by the body to try and communicate to us that something, usually outside of our conscious awareness, is in need of our attention;
  • Feelings buried alive never die – at some point the body will present its bill for not effectively dealing with those very feelings;
  • For true and complete healing to occur, the individual needs to be engaged in the process of identifying any mental or emotional contributing factors;
  • Treating the root cause of a condition, rather than just the symptoms, is the most effective way to prevent that same condition recurring.
Amy Lapin suffered from chronic shoulder pain for 8 years. She could not lift her arm above her waist. After working with Richard for 15 minutes in front of a live seminar audience, Amy raised her arm to the ceiling. She is presently a personal trainer and has her full range of movement back.

A final word from Richard…

"We all have the capacity to feel good, perform better and live well, yet too often find ourselves stressed out, emotionally numb, living a life of quiet dissatisfaction, or tolerating less-than-desirable levels of health. My role is to help individuals access their natural resources and realize their potential for self-healing. In doing so, my aim is to help create positive, sustainable change in the most appropriate way for that individual against the backdrop of their life circumstances."
